NATIONAL TALK BLACK – 22/10/2024
On todays National Talk Black via NIRS – National Indigenous Radio Service we have:
Daniel Rosendale, DIYDG – Deadly Inspiring Youth Doing Good, talking about “VOICE”. In early 2023, a national vote to enshrine Indigenous peoples voice in the constitution is slated for later that year. A dynamic Indigenous youth group, drawn from across regional Australia begin preparations to become referendum campaigners back in their own communities. Facilitated by an Indigenous lead, grassroots organisation based in Cairns – “Deadly Inspiring Youth Doing Good” (DIYDG) the young Indigenous participants begin their preparation by embarking on a road-trip to honour a land rights legacy created by Vincent Lingiari in 1966. After an Australian Premier at the Melbourne International Film Festival and an international debut at Hawai’i International Film Festival, DIYDG will be bringing “VOICE” to Cairns.
