Donna Murray, Indigenous Allied Health Australia Ltd. CEO, talking about how the 2025 Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship is now open. The Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship is named in honour of Dr Arnold ‘Puggy’ Hunter, a pioneering leader in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing, whose many contributions shaped and influenced the Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health sector we know today. The Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care and provides Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students up to $15,000 per annum for full time students, for the normal duration of their studies. Applications for the 2025 round have closed, make sure to catch it for 2026!

Katie Kiss, The Australian Human Rights Commissions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner, talking about ensuring the voices of First Nations people across Australia help form the agenda for the term, the Commissioner is conducting a national listening tour to hear from First Nations. She will be hearing about how we move forward after the Voice Referendum, how to progress and utilise mechanisms to realise our rights, what issues are most urgently in need of attention and what expectations First Nations people have of the Social Justice Commissioner role.
