NATIONAL TALK BLACK – 01/12/2025
On todays National Talk Black via NIRS – National Indigenous Radio Service we have:
Special Guests from Process Unite Cultural Authorisation and Maja Agreement. Process Unite formalised our bid for a comprehensive settlement on behalf of all participating Traditional Owner groups on November 28 to 30 this year. The ceremony and celebrations were held at Mungalla Station on Nywaigi Country. All Traditional Owners within the Girringun community were invited to attend this historic event as we walk towards self-determination. The Authorisation ceremony also identified a formal negotiation team, with members as elected by their Traditional Owner groups. They were assisted by a support team including researchers, economists and governance advisors as required. This will ensure that priorities and programs are identified. This team will be placed with on-ground knowledge to address Close the Gap targets. The shared vision is for Traditional Owners to be the architects of their own future and create a self-determined legacy for their children’s children, that is no longer dependent upon government funding and annual hand-outs. Our Elders believe this is the only way to achieve genuine social equity and Close the Gap outcomes. You can find out more via the link below!
