Samantha Connor, People with Disability Australia President, talking about Disability Royal Commission Report backs push to speed up COVID Vax rollout for people With disability”. Disability advocates say the Federal Government needs to heed the Disability Royal Commission’s latest call for improved vaccination measures to protect the lives of people with disability before states start to open up from COVID lockdowns. PWDA is a national disability rights and advocacy organisation made up of, and led by, people with disability. We are a peak, non-profit, non-government organisation that has been representing the interests of people with all kinds of disability since 1981.

Fiona Cornforth, CEO of the Healing Foundation, talking about how Torres Strait Island communities launch new healing reports. The Torres Strait Island communities of Kerriri (Hammond Island), Dauan and Saibai will this week launch new reports to take the lead in their own healing. The healing forum reports outline the key findings from each forum and the priority actions or healing solutions, and next steps as determined by the community.

Linda Burney, Shadow Minister for Indigenous Australian’s, talking about how the First Nations vaccination gap has worsened. Vaccination rates for First Nations Australians are falling further behind, not catching up. The Prime Minister promised First Nations Australians would be vaccinated by winter. But less than 50 per cent of First Nations people have even received a first dose.
