Tjalaminu “Tj” Mia, CEO of Sister Kate’s Home Kids Aboriginal Corporation talking about the landmark milestone of Sister Kate’s “bush block” to Stolen Generations survivors and their families for a new place of healing and remembrance. The bush block played a huge role in the young lives of Sister Kate’s Homees, who used to escape the harsh realities of life at the Children’s Home to reconnect with Country, family, and the natural world.
Professor Reuben Bolt, Charles Darwin University Deputy Vice-Chancellor of First Nations Leadership talking about Vincent Lingiari Memorial Lecture comes at a critical time. The Vincent Lingiari Memorial Lecture was held for the first time on Gurindji Country at the Freedom Day Festival held at Kalkarindji/Daguragu (Wave Hill) on Friday August 26. CDU hosts the Vincent Lingiari Memorial Lecture which commemorates the Wave Hill Station walk-off led by Vincent Lingiari with his Gurindji people and other groups in August 1966.

She discusses how she entered the industry as part of an Indigenous program, working in a male dominated industry and much more.
