Myles Russell-Cook, National Gallery of Victoria‘s (NGV) curator of Indigenous Art and the DESTINY exhibition talking about how NGV will reopen The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia at Federation Square to the public on Monday 23 November 2020. Visitors will experience the premiere retrospective exhibition DESTINY, showcasing the work of one of Australiaโ€™s most respected artists Destiny Deacon.

Ian White, Anthropologist and archaeologist, compiler of Clever Man: The Life of Paddy Compass Namadbara. Clever Man: The Life of Paddy Compass Namadbara offers a unique perspective on the life and making of Aboriginal Western Arnhem marrkidjbu (clever man) Paddy Compass Namadbara. This biography looks at Namadbara’s life through the eyes of his Western Arnhem countrymen who witnessed his extraordinary abilities and powers to heal. The biography captures profound stories told by highly respected and revered Aboriginal men he helped: Big Bill Neidjie, Bluey Ilkgirr, Jacob Nayinggul, Jim Wauchope, Johhny Williams Snr, Ron Cooper, Thompson Yuludjiri and others.

Michael Woodley, Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation CEO discussing how representatives of the Yindjibarndi community gathered in Roebourne WA to celebrate the unconditional return of eight secular items from Andover, United Kingdom. The return is the first repatriation from a private collector under the newly extended Return of Cultural Heritage (RoCH) initiative led by the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS). In July 2020 the Australian Government announced a further $10 million to extend RoCH for another four years.
