We had:

Raelene Cooper, Murujuga traditional custodian talking about how the Murujuga Traditional Custodians say expanding Burrup Hub is incompatible with World Heritage Listing. Murujuga Traditional Custodians have called for a moratorium on further industrial development on the Burrup Peninsula until an independent investigation of heritage values and threats is undertaken by the United Nations World Heritage Committee.

Ned David, Chairman of Gur A Baradharaw Kod (GBK) Sea and Land Council, talking about Illegal foreign fishing boats a ‘threat’ to Torres Strait Islander commercial fishers. Traditional owners in the Torres Strait have taken aim at border protection and fisheries authorities for what they say is a “lax attitude” to incursions by illegal fishing boats.
