Elizabeth Spencer, Charles Darwin University Professor of Law Professor talking about how many advocates and legal professionals are concerned about what could happen when alcohol restrictions are eased in First Nations communities. On 16 July, legislation on the restriction of alcohol in 344 areas where First Nations people live will expire in the Northern Territory. Elizabeth says Indigenous and non-indigenous organisations have come out against lifting the restrictions without first consulting with the First Nations communities it affects.
