National Talkblack 031120

We had:

Robert Cooley, 30-year National Parks and Wildlife Service veteran joined by Gamay rangers Robert Russell, Harley Lester, Bryce Liddell talking about how over the last 18 months an all-Indigenous outfit has joined a push to better protect native wildlife in Gamay country. The La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council hope the rangers can transform these sites into celebrated assets by building better relationships with the private and government agencies that use Botany Bay.

Juan Walker, Owner/Operator of Walkabout Cultural Adventures discussing how this year celebrates 10 years of operating on-Country tours sharing the histories, cultures and traditional ways of Kuku Yalanji people.

Lawrence Clarke, Chair of the Winangakirri Land Corporation talking about how the Ngiyampaa language has been bolstered by a dictionary published by the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) publishing arm, Aboriginal Studies Press. The dictionary is a much needed resource to not only learn language, but to strengthen cultural identity for current and future generations.
