National Talkblack 030223
We had:
Ned David, Chairman of Gur A Baradharaw Kod (GBK) Sea and Land Council, talking about Illegal foreign fishing boats a ‘threat’ to Torres Strait Islander commercial fishers. Traditional owners in the Torres Strait have taken aim at border protection and fisheries authorities for what they say is a “lax attitude” to incursions by illegal fishing boats.
Jason Lord, Head coach at Arrernte Community Boxing Academy, talking about how they aim to help change young people’s paths in Alice Springs. Alice Springs has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately, but the community say positive programs like Jason’s could play a major part in addressing the town’s crime issues.
