NATIONAL TALK BLACK – 20/01/2025

On todays National Talk Black via NIRS – National Indigenous Radio Service we have:

Jack Cannons AM, Founder of Bush to Beach, talking about Bush to Beach Celebrating 20 Years of Empowering Indigenous Youth. From January 24th to 27th, a group of approximately 30 kids, aged eight to 15, from Brewarrina, Weilmoringle, and Goodooga will embark on a transformative journey to South Narrabeen. The weekend aims to reward their commitment to school attendance with a chance to engage in exciting beach activities, snorkel, learn water safety, and even surf for the first time, guided by surf life savers and local Nippers from South Narrabeen Surf Club who have been dedicated to the programme since 2005. This initiative is a unique opportunity for Indigenous youth to embrace their culture while gaining skills that will serve them for years to come. It exemplifies community spirit, resilience, and the beauty of connections forged through shared experiences. To find out more, check out the link below!
