Jay Forrester, Bourke Aboriginal Corporation Health Service Acting CEO, talking about the Men of Bourke Forum returns for 2025. From the 16-17 June, Bourke Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (BACHS) and community partners will present the Men of Bourke Forum 2025; a two-day gathering focused on listening, sharing and supporting one another through stories, culture and connection. Guest speakers included respected voices like Gavin Gibbs, Mitch Tambo and Corey Anderson, alongside cultural facilitators, local artist and service providers including BACHS, CatholicCare Wilcannia-Forbes and Western NSW Local Health District. Activities across the two days include creative workshops, wellbeing sessions and roleplay exercises focused on real-life challenges like conflict resolution. Edmonton Police, Whichway Yarning, talking about Thank a First Responder Day. What is Thank a First Responder Day? Thank a First Responder Day is a day to show our gratitude and appreciation for the first responders in our community, for the work that they do to keep us safer. 11th June 2025 is Thank a First Responder Day, when we ask you to join us in saying two simple words to our first responders: Thank you. Hosted on Wednesday 11 June 2025, the community is being asked to show their appreciation to local first responders by taking the time to say, ‘thank you’. Now in its sixth year, Thank a First Responder Day creates a clear and resounding voice of gratitude for the frontline workers and volunteers who do so much, often for very little thanks or recognition. It was created by Fortem Australia, the nation’s leading independent and not-for-profit organisation supporting the mental health and wellbeing of first responders and their families.
