National Talkblack 260221
We had:
Alexandra Hohoi, Practice Manager and Mikaela French, Solicitor at Marrawah Law discussing if workplaces can make the COVID-19 vaccine mandatory. Australia is currently preparing to roll out a national vaccination program for COVID-19 in the coming months which raises concerns for employers and employees. Currently there are no specific laws about making the COVID-19 vaccine mandatory for employees.
Michael Berry, Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Western Australia Branch President talking about how immediate action is needed to support disadvantaged and marginalised communities. He highlights the devastating reality that Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children are much more overrepresented in out of home care in WA, compared to other jurisdictions.
