Uncle Phillip Bowie, Navy Indigenous Development Program elder, talking about his career and mentoring role he now has. Uncle Phillip joined in 1956 and trained at HMAS Leeuwin as a marine technician and before serving for nearly nine years in the ships Melbourne, Stalwart, Paluma and Barbette.
Lieutenant Colonel Eileen-Joan Hall, Command Cultural Adviser to the Regional Force Surveillance Group (RFSG), one of the Army’s most senior Indigenous female officers. Lieutenant Colonel Eileen is now one of the country’s highest-ranking Indigenous soldiers.
Dr Ray Kerkhove, Adjunct Associate Professor with University of Southern Queensland and Author of How They Fought, talking about How They Fought: Pioneering research reveals ingenuity and forgotten successes of Aboriginal resistance
