We had:

Joel Edmonson, CEO of QMF, talking about the Yarrabah Music and Cultural Festival taking place on the 30th April 2022. Only one hour’s drive from Cairns, Yarrabah is nestled between rolling green hills and crystalline sea – the perfect spot for a vibrant music festival. The free family-friendly event is presented by QMF and the Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire Council and combines impressive local music, visual arts and flavours with some of Australia’s brightest stars to showcase the incredible talent emerging from the Yarrabah community.

Amy Roberts, Professor of Archaeology at Flinders University, talking about Rare 6,000-year-old mussel shell reveals insights into First Nations technology. Researchers from Flinders and Griffith universities collaborated with the River Murray and Mallee Aboriginal Corporation and the Ngarrindjeri Aboriginal Corporation to explore the Riverland. The serrated freshwater mussel shell has been determined to be around 6,000 years old — a discovery which tells us more about the inventive uses for natural resources in Aboriginal history.
