National Talkblack 231120
We had:
Luke Wenitong, Community Relations at the Queensland Human Rights Commission discussing the new QLD Human Rights Act (2019) this Human Rights month. Luke goes into the detail about the protections specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islaner peoples in the Act.
Dr Vladimir Levchenko, ANTSO scientist talking about how Aboriginal throwing sticks used hundred of years ago will be analysed using nuclear research techniques. The throwing sticks were discovered by chance and can offer exciting new insights into the lives of some of South Australia’s original inhabitants.
Patricia Ellis, co-author of the new Dhurga Dictionary discussing the dedicated work by her and her siblings in publishing the Dhurga Dictionary and Learners Grammar. Dhurga language is one of the languages of the Yuin Nation, spoken on the South Coast and Southern Tablelands of New South Wales.
