National Talkblack 221019
On todays National Talkblack via NIRS – NIRS – National Indigenous Radio Service we had:
Aaron Smith – Editor from Cape & Torres News for his weekly catch up. The inner islands had bush fires on TI, Horn and Prince of Wales. It was a combination of the dry season and people intentionally lighting fires which continually puts the community at risk. The fires came very close to losing the Horn Island primary school and also the airport. Aaron also spoke to John Bottoms from BELAW about the Stolen Wages case while they were doing community consultation on TI.
Phil Walleystack – It’s been a long time between albums for Noongar singer-songwriter Phil Walleystack but after five years of work his latest release has dropped, filled with a message of reconciliation.
Trevor also had a quick yarn to Brooklyn and Giaan who are doing their school based trainee-ship here at BBM.
Also our regular callers weighing in on the conversation about the official closure of Uluru this Saturday the 26th October.
Have something happening in your community, and you want to talk about it, give us a call on 1800 422 416. Or Give us a text on 0459 978 945!
