We had:

Mikaela French, Solicitor and Alexandra Hohoi, Practice Manager at Marrawah Law discussing how Telstra is facing $50 million dollar fines for exploiting Indigenous customers. Telstra has admitted that it breached consumer law after they unethically sold mobile phone plans to 108 Indigenous customers who could not afford them and did not understand the mobile phone contracts.

Tom Caita-Mandra, Aboriginal Employment Strategy Graduate and Kristy Masella, Aboriginal Employment Strategy (AES) CEO discussing how new graduates take flight with AES traineeships. The AES Traineeship program is one of the organisation’s most successful initiatives creating significant contributions to employer workplaces and their customer experiences. More than 50% of AES graduated trainees go on to achieve full-time employment with their host employer, while many others go on to undertake university study or further training, or full-time employment with a new employer. After completing his three year traineeship, Tom is now headed to Melbourne’s Monash University to study a Bachelor Degree in Psychology with a strong sense of personal achievement and a range of new skills.
