Scammers are making the most of the Covid-19 lockdowns to take advantage of vulnerable people looking to find a new pet. Scammers are leaving victims thousands of dollars out of pocket for a puppy that never existed. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has estimated that Australians have lost almost $300,000 from puppy scams during the Covid-19 pandemic.
