National Talkblack 120821

We had:

Janina Harding, Artistic Director of the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair talking about the postponement of CIAF and the new dates it will take place. Dave Copeman, Director at Queensland Conservation Council talking about how the QLD Gov climate action plan has come at a crucial time, with not a second to spare. Dave says that the Climate Action Plan 2030 demonstrates that the Queensland Government understands time is running out to produce a plan on emissions reduction.

Jasmine Craciun’s, the artist from NSW behind the Aussie Olympic visual identity pays tribute to ancestors. It is the first time surfing has been included as an Olympic event and Jasmine’s talents are behind the Australian team’s visual identity. She worked on the design for up to three months before the chosen work, which mirrored one of her initial designs, was locked in. Her goal was to represent the fluidity of the water, given water is a huge part of who the surfers are and what they do.
