National Talkblack 010922

We had:

Dr Andrew Rochford, Digital health expert from the Australian Digital Health Agency talking about electronic prescriptions at Royal Perth Hospital – which is a national first for a public hospital, and a great thing for Indigenous and all peoples.

Daryle Rigney, Professor at UTS: University of Technology Sydney talking about the power of nation building to improve Indigenous peoples’ health and wellbeing. A new discussion paper sets a framework for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to take control of their health and wellbeing through nation building.

Thomas Bailey, Founder of Veteran Benefits Australia talking about how the DVA urged to subsidise medicinal cannabis for veterans struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Despite medicinal cannabis being legal in Australia, the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) approves medicinal cannabis for physical pain but not for PTSD or mental-health related issues.
