National Talkblack 010822

We had:

James Clifford, Acting Principal Solicitor for Children’s Criminal Law Practice Aboriginal Legal Service, talking about Youth Koori Court launched in Dubbo to support young Indigenous offenders. It’s hoped the over-representation of Indigenous people in the criminal justice system can be reduced by newly funded programs designed to prevent offending and give culturally appropriate support in court.

Chrissie Grant, Chair of Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, talking about New Wet Tropics tour guide program to reinvigorate region’s tourism. A new tour guide training and development program for Queensland’s Wet Tropics will reaffirm the far north as a leader in world heritage tourism as the industry bounces back. The Wet Tropics Management Authority are collaborating with the Department of Environment and Science and Tourism and Events Queensland to develop and deliver the program.
