James Howard, One of the 2024 Recipients of Bangarra Dance Theatre’s “David Page Music Fellowship”, talking about being selected for the music fellowship. In honour of the late David Page, this music fellowship offers emerging Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait music/sound artists the opportunity to work in a professional, culturally respectful, and collaborative environment, guided by highly experienced mentors. This year, the two fellows will be actively contributing to Bangarra’s Dance Clan later this year. Congratulations, James and Good Luck!
Dan Rennie, Queensland Correspondent for NITV, talking about his journey through television media. Also formerly a Producer at Australian Broadcasting Foundation (ABC), Dan has over 20 years of experience in media, with a focus on talk radio and sports coverage. He is also a talented voice-over artist and an award-winning radio host who has interviewed some of the world’s biggest names. Dan also served the Goolwal Goolwal Cultural Lead at QMusic, where he worked as part of the programming team and coordinated First Nations projects and engagement. He is passionate about building relationships with First Nations communities, musicians, and music industry workers in Queensland, and supporting their artistic and business development.
Tanya Ha, Ambassador for National Science Week, talking about the 2024 National Science Week. The national festival that reaches more than 2 million people through thousands of events is back from 10 to 18 August. National Science Week is one of Australia’s largest festivals and was first held in 1997. Last year about 2.7 million people participated in more than 1,862 events and activities. It is proudly supported by the Australian Government, CSIRO, the Australian Science Teachers Association, and the ABC. The school theme for National Science Week in 2024 is Species Survival – More than just sustainability. The theme aims to highlight the importance of science and innovation in ensuring the survival and thriving of different species in an ever-changing world.
