NATIONAL TALK BLACK – 20/02/2025
On todays National Talk Black via NIRS – National Indigenous Radio Service we have:
Jimmy Kyle, Chasing Ghosts Lead Singer and Chief Songwriter, talking about the Naarm Aboriginal led indie punk band “Chasing Ghosts” announced their new album Therapy on Wednesday Feb 19. Chasing Ghosts have always been a band whose music has championed urgency in its messaging: unbridled passion and fury, meeting honest storytelling and observations delivered by frontman and songwriter, Jimmy Kyle, the Thungutti man who has emerged as one of Australia’s most important voices in recent years. First single to drop is My Bingayi, which showcases a more melodic and emotive side of Chasing Ghosts. ‘My Bingayi’ is a song inspired by confronting conversations with other men about their domestically violent pasts, is one of Therapy’s touchstone moments. Perfectly balancing nuance with sensitivity, the song is about accountability, but encouraging behavioural change through finding helpful strategies that can ultimately break the chains of trauma. The band will be on the road supporting Clay J Gladstone in March and their Therapy album tour in June 2025, will be announced with the next single mid-march.
