NATIONAL TALK BLACK – 19/11/2024

On todays National Talk Black via NIRS – National Indigenous Radio Service we have:

Samantha Payne, Co-founder & CEO of Pink Elephants, talking about Australian parents lacking community support amid surge in perinatal depression and anxiety. Newly released data reveals a troubling reality for parents in Australia: a staggering two-thirds (67%) of parents with children under five lack a strong community network to support them through the challenges of parenthood. Over 55 specialist perinatal mental health organisations are uniting for Perinatal Mental Health Week (17–23 November) under the theme ‘We’re here, a community that cares’ to highlight the crucial role of community support for potential, new, and expectant parents through their Perinatal Mental Health Support Finder.
