Hannah Belanskzy, Belvoir St Theatre 2024 Balnaves Foundation Fellow, talking about Belvoir St Theatre is now accepting entries for the 2026 Balnaves Foundation Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Fellowship Program. The Balnaves Fellowship is a paid residency that provides the opportunity to work at Belvoir as a resident artist to create a work for the stage. The winner has the opportunity to work at Belvoir over a two-year period from January 2026 to December 2027 as a resident artist, and receive funding to create their new work. Lucas Proudfoot, The Indigenous Literacy Foundation Ambassador, talking about Seven New Ambassadors Join the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. The Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) is proud to announce author, comedian and artist Anh Do, children’s entertainer Lucas Proudfoot and singer Tehya Makani as ILF Ambassadors. NITV journalist Bronte Charles and author and artist Mia Speed have also joined as ILF Youth Ambassadors for 2026. This year, ILF has introduced Community Ambassadors, recognising those working directly in First Nations Communities. Co-founders of Mamanta, Tammy Abala and Shane Tipuamantamerri are the inaugural Community Ambassadors. Multi-platform storyteller, musician, performer, and author Lucas Proudfoot inspires over 100,000 children annually through live performances, music, and books. Melanie Harris, Austrade’s Head of Indigenous Engagement and Export, talking about Celebrating Trailblazers: First Nations Finalists for New National Export Award. For the first time in its 63-year history, Austrade’s Australian Export Awards has introduced a dedicated First Nations Exporter Award and its six finalists have been named. This landmark category was created to recognise that Australia’s First Nations traders were our first exporters — from trading with Makassan seafarers for generations to today’s global market. It celebrates their outstanding and growing contribution to international trade and the progress toward strong economic participation. The six successful finalists include: Aldridge Rail Group (NSW), Ikuntji Artists (NT), Jala Jala (VIC), Kirrikin (WA), Elephant in the Room Consulting (QLD) and Munda Wines (SA).
