NATIONAL TALK BLACK – 10/10/2025

On todays National Talk Black via NIRS – National Indigenous Radio Service we have:

Kerry Turner, Murri’s on the Move Driving School Ltd CEO, Project Manager, talking about New program tackles driver licensing barriers for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. A new national transport initiative will adapt Queensland’s PrepL learner program for remote communities, embedding Indigenous cultural knowledge and data sovereignty into road safety. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are significantly overrepresented in Australia’s road trauma statistics, with many facing barriers to safe and equitable access to driver licensing. A new initiative funded by iMOVE CRC aims to change that by working directly with communities to co-design solutions grounded in culture, self-determination, and equity.
