The Work Exposure in Government (WEX) program provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with hands-on experience and knowledge about career pathways in the Australian Government. WEX Canberra 2025 will be held from Sunday 26 October to Friday 31 October 2025. All accommodation, transportation and meals are provided at no cost and students are accompanied by teachers and mentors who provide cultural mentoring and leadership guidance. Steven Oliver, Indigenous Comedian and Big Backyard Quiz co-host, talking about SBS & NAIDOC Week’s 50th birthdays and BIG BACKYARD QUIZ. NITV and SBS recently released its NAIDOC Week programming to air from Sunday 6 – Sunday 13 July. Both SBS and NAIDOC Week are celebrating 50 years with an extensive line-up to celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with curated content premiering across SBS and NITV from Sunday 6 July to Sunday 13 July. The very first season of Big Backyard Quiz which premieres on Saturday 12 July at 7:30pm on NITV and SBS On Demand. It’s a 10-episode lighthearted, comedy quiz show hosted by 10 News First’s Narelda Jacobs OAM and comedian Steven Oliver. Filmed with a studio audience on Noongar Boodja (in Perth), BBQ explores Australia’s people and history through a unique Blak lens, offering fresh perspectives on familiar topics. Each episode features two teams of three, who go head-to-head in a friendly competition to be crowned Big Backyard Quiz champions. This season features comedians including Meyne Wyatt (The Moogai, We Are Still Here), Shari Sebbens (The Moogai, Little J & Big Cuz), Matt Okine, Nina Oyama, Rhys Nicholson and Emma Holland. Ernie Dingo, Rove McManus, Tasma Walton, and Peter Rowsthorn will feature in subsequent eps.
