Allira Toby, Former A-Leagues player and John Moriarty Football (JMF) Ambassador, talking about Unearthing the next generation of Indigenous football talent at the inaugural JMF National Talent Showcase. John Moriarty Football (JMF) will shine the spotlight on young Indigenous football talent in an Australian first at JMF’s National Talent Showcase in Sydney on 30-31 May. This JMF event will showcase the talents of female and male Indigenous footballers aged 12 to 16 from all over Australia, giving them the chance to demonstrate their skills to the professional football community. Brooke Collard, Producer and Writer, talking about Brooke Collard selected for European Film Market’s Toolbox Programme. Ballardong Whadjuk Noongar producer and writer Brooke Collard has been selected to participate in the Toolbox Programme at the European Film Market (EFM), held alongside the Berlin International Film Festival. Selected by the Winda Film Festival, Collard will attend the program with the support of the Indigenous Cinema Alliance (ICA), where she is a 2026 ICA Fellow. (Photo Credit: Brooke Collard)
Martin Pritchard, Environs Kimberley Executive Director, talking about submitting an appeal against Black Mountain Energy’s fracking proposal for the Fitzroy Valley. The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) assessment report has just been released to the Cook Government for Black Mountain Energy’s proposal (via subsidiary ‘Bennett Resources Ltd’) to drill and frack up to 20 gas wells in the West Kimberley. The proposal area lies in the catchment of the National Heritage-listed Martuwarra Fitzroy River. Two of the proposed fracking well sites are less than 2.5 km from Mount Hardman Creek, which runs into the Martuwarra. Appeals close Today (10 Feb 2026). You can find out mjore via the link below!
