Bill Stavreski, Leukaemia Foundation Head of Research, talking about First Nations Australians dying at far higher rates from blood cancer, research reveals gaps in care and support. On World Cancer Day (Wed 4 February), the Leukaemia Foundation has revealed world-first new research proving First Nations Australians are dying at significantly higher rates, and younger, from blood cancer and face substantial barriers to treatment and care compared to non-Indigenous Australians. The Leukaemia Foundation urges the Australian community to sign up to shave, cut, or colour their hair for the World’s Greatest Shave and help join the fight against blood cancer.
