Kai Barba, Camp Misguided, talking about Camp Misguided. A Mackay father is kicking big goals, teaching the community all about traditional Indigenous culture.
Kai Barber has more than 10,000 followers online and his videos are helping at-risk kids stay out of trouble. Traditional Hunting, Gathering & Camping. Keeping culture alive & supporting good mental wellbeing. It started with Kai wanting his kids outdoors after seeing them on ipads. He wanted to get them outside and get them active again. He started his social media platform “Camp Misguided” in 2019, since then he has gained thousands of loyal followers. He shares indigenous knowledge, from understanding tide times, to how to look for schools of fish and catching mud crabs. Kai also goes into schools to teach. He believes camps are the way to go for troubled youth. His aim? To keep his culture alive. (Photo Credits: Camp Misguided)
