On todays National Talkblack via NIRS – NIRS – National Indigenous Radio Service we had:
October marks the 20th anniversary of the ‘Crocodile Case’ which made legal history when Murrandoo Yanner a Gangalidda man from the Lower Gulf of Carpentaria Region Queensland was charged with hunting and killing of two crocodiles which he argued was his and all Aboriginal People’s right in this land to be able to hunt and eat their traditional bush tucker.
Grant Edwards was once an elite athlete, an Olympics qualifier and Australia’s strongest man. He represented Australia in Athletics, Bobsleigh, Powerlifting and the ScottishHighland Games. He’s competed across the world in Strongman events. Grant Edwards is a man who has achieved, seen and experienced so much. But despite his physical appearance and toughness, mental illness almost caused him to take his life when he thought suicide was the only way out. Now, Grant’s all about spreading the message that it’s ok, not to be ok.
