NATIONAL TALK BLACK – 18/11/2025

On todays National Talk Black via NIRS – National Indigenous Radio Service we have:

Georgia Clay, NRL Cowboys House Cultural Leader, talking about Georgia’s passion inspires ‘Indigenous Sistas’. Proud Palm Island teenager Georgia Clay has overcome her natural shyness to put her cultural pride on show through dance. From a shy, softly spoken teenager to a confident cultural leader, Georgia Clay’s journey at NRL Cowboys House is inspiring her peers and strengthening community connections. Driven by her passion for dance and cultural identity, Georgia founded an all-girls Indigenous dance group that has grown from a handful of participants to more than a dozen performers. The Indigenous Sistas first performed in front of their NRL Cowboys House peers at the Sorry Day event, then hundreds of family members and stakeholders at the NAIDOC celebration in September, before being invited to perform at Queensland Country Bank Stadium as part of NRL Indigenous Round. Rod Camm, Motor Trades Association of Queensland – MTAQ CEO, talking about MTA Queensland demands immediate government crackdown on unsafe and illegal e-mobility devices after deaths of two children. The growth of e-mobility in Queensland offers exciting opportunities but also brings significant safety and regulatory challenges. A clear distinction must be made between legal, compliant devices and the increasing presence of illegal, unsafe vehicles on public roads. Many of these illegal vehicles are modified, imported, and sold through unregulated markets, posing serious risks to users and the wider community. You can find out more via the link below!
