Dr. Megan Campbell, NACCHO Aboriginal Health Australia Medical Advisor, talking about Solutions in community – eliminating Hepatitis B and C in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities together. Monday 28th of July was World Hepatitis Day and Hepatitis Australia and National Aboriginal Controlled Community Health Organisations NACCHOS are drawing attention to the disparity that exists for First Nations peoples in hepatitis treatment, and the community led solutions. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities continue to bear the brunt of viral hepatitis, despite it being preventable, treatable, and in some cases, curable. Jebb Hutchison, On-Country Pathways General Manager, talking about Riverina Murray First Nations not-for-profit wins national road safety award. Riverina Murray-based not-for-profit On-Country Pathways has won a national road safety award for its culturally safe driver mentor program, as it approaches its 100th P plater. The charity’s driver-mentor program – a free service for young First Nations people – took the Indigenous Programs Award 2025 title at the Australian Road Safety Awards in Canberra. The driver-mentor program helps young mob build up their 120 supervised driving hours, getting them on the road to independence and breaking down barriers to employment. Since its launch in late 2022, the program has helped almost 100 young people across 16 locations in the Riverina Murray region to achieve their P plates. A further 212 learner drivers are currently building up their hours. Driver-mentors are First Nations people and allies from the communities supported by On-Country Pathways through funding from the Australian Government’s Indigenous Skills and Employment Program (ISEP) and the Strong and Resilient Communities (SARC) program. Caden Pearson, Resonant Films Founder, talking about the Far North Queensland screen businesses share in enterprise funding boost. Four Far North Queensland businesses will receive a share in $220,000 from Screen Queensland’s NQ Enterprise initiative. Screen Queensland’s North Queensland Regional Program is a multi-year initiative to grow the region’s creative community through opportunities for skills development, funding for local screen businesses and events to foster industry connections. The NQ Enterprise funding will support BioQuest Studios, Blue Octopus Films, Platinum Talent Management and Resonant Films to grow their operations, evolve innovation and provide new career pathways. Resonant Films, Founded by Caden Pearson, is a First Nations-led screenwriting & production company based in Gimuy (Cairns), telling bold, genre-driven stories that resonate locally, nationally & globally. Screen Queensland has been pivotal in supporting Caden’s growth as a screenwriter and director, backing the development of two feature screenplays, awarding him an SQ residency, and providing opportunities to attend international and domestic market conferences.

Through LLND training and support provided by Skills Explorer, they help adult learners build foundational skills in English language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy.
