Minnie will discuss how the Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival will focus on Indigenous stories and the history of the Koa People in Winton and its surrounding region.
Andrea James, Aboriginal Theatre Maker, talking about how she continues to tell vital First Nations stories in her tribute to tennis legend Evonne Goolagong. Last month, the celebrated playwright, director and dramaturge took home the coveted $30,000 Mona Brand Award for Women Stage and Screen Writers for her body of work, including more than 10 plays which centre contemporary First Nations stories and peoples, such as Winyanboga Yurringa and Yanagai! Yanagai!
Amanda Healy, Kirrikin founder and designer talking about meeting the mob taking Indigenous fashion to Europe’s biggest stages. A group of First Nations creatives have touched down in Europe to bring their runway collections to the streets of Brussels, Paris, London and Dublin. Healy said she hopes to inform European audiences of some of how their Indigenous culture informs fashion.
Bruce Johnson-McLean, Assistant Director of First Nations Engagement at National Gallery Australia, talking about the Largest Exhibition of First Nations art to travel to Asia opens at National Gallery Singapore.
